she was three when this channel began
She was three years old when I started this channel. I play these recordings for her before bed. I hope that when she is older she will still fall asleep to them — and read the things I write here, and know that I loved her.
Everything on the channel is filmed and recorded by me, at lakes across Vietnam. At one of them there is a café I have still never sat down in. If this channel ever reaches a thousand subscribers, I think I will finally treat myself to it.
These are the quiet places of my country. I hope that one day you get to come and see them for yourself.
There is no voice in the videos, so nothing pulls you back awake. Sometimes I write a few lines into the subtitles instead. If you would rather not read them, you can turn them off — I will not mind.
Our time here is one blink of the universe's eye. So you are allowed to choose hope, choose happiness, choose joy. You are stronger than you think you are.
And when the flat, discouraged days come, let them come. They are part of going in the right direction — the same as the day I uploaded my first video and waited for one view, one like, one comment, and got none at all. Keep going anyway. Make it a habit and one day it stops hurting.
